1.5-2 envelopes onion soup mix
2 pounds lean ground beef
3/4 cup bread crumbs
1/4 cup milk
1/3 cup ketchup (plus a little extra for topping)
1 Tbsp minced garlic
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp garlic powder
1.5 tsp each of salt and pepper
1.5 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- In a large bowl or the bowl of your stand mixer, mix together all ingredients. You can add extra milk if needed. You want the mixture to be moist but not soggy.
- Transfer the mixture to a loaf pan.
- Bake uncovered for 50-60 minutes (internal temperature should be 160 degrees.
- Take meatloaf out of oven and spread a thin layer of ketchup on top and return to oven for 5-10 minutes.
Notes
- If the meatloaf is already looking crisp around the edges, you can turn the oven temp off while it sits in the oven for the last 5-10 minutes with the ketchup topping.
